Easily Change Cord Sizes in Your Macrame Projects!

No more guessing! This Macrame Cord Size Calculator will help you accurately estimate your cord lengths if you want to use a different size cord than what a pattern calls for.

What is the Macrame Cord Size Calculator?

Let's say you're making a macrame plant hanger using a pattern, and it calls for 4mm single strand cotton string. You only have 5mm single strand on hand - oh no!

It's no biggie if you have the Macrame Cord Size Calculator!

You can easily figure out how long to make the cords so you won't run out of cord.

No math required!

The calculator is made inside a Google Sheets spreadsheet, and it includes a step by step video tutorial where I show you exactly how to use it.

You'll need to be logged into your Google account to access it, and you'll save a copy of it in your Google account so you can use it whenever you want!

If you prefer to use Microsoft Excel, you can download it and use it that way instead, and there are instructions on how to do that included.

It's a great time saver for any macrame artist!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

This calculator only works if you're using the same TYPE of cord but in a different size.

For instance, you can use it to estimate the cord length if you want to switch from 3mm single strand cotton string to 7mm single strand cotton string.

But you can't use it to switch from 4mm 3-ply rope to 5mm single strand cotton string.

3-ply rope is harder than single strand cotton string, and therefore it uses more rope for each knot, even if both types of cord are the same size.

Also, some 3-ply rope is harder than others. If you're trying to swap out a super soft 3mm 3-ply rope for a hard 5mm 3-ply rope, this calculator won't be able to give you a good estimation.

Stick with the same type of cord and you'll be in good shape. It can be any type of cord (single strand string, 2 or 3 ply rope, braided cord, etc.) as long as they're both the same TYPE.
